Oklahomans for the Arts sent the Candidate Survey to every candidate who filed in each of the special elections with voting taking place on September 12th. All responses to the survey are included here. See the Oklahoma Elections Board for more on all upcoming elections and where you are eligible to vote.
Rick Hardesty, candidate for Senate 37, and Jacob Rosencrants, candidate for House 46 responded to Oklahomans for the Arts' candidate survey.
CANDIDATE SURVEY QUESTIONS:
- What arts culture activities have you attended, participated in or supported in the last year?
- Do you support ongoing or increased appropriations for the Oklahoma Arts Council so that arts cultural organizations and schools in your district can present high quality arts programs for all of its citizens?
- Do you support the Oklahoma Arts Council remaining an independent agency to maintain its mission efficiency and future?
- Would you support policies to strengthen arts education helping young people succeed in the global economies of today?

COMMENTS: "As a classroom teacher, I bemoan the seemingly reduced role of the arts in favor of more testing. As the next representative of HD 46, I promise to be a warrior for the arts, including funding. The arts are what make us truly human."
