“Arts education is a secret weapon for education. We just don’t want it to be such a secret anymore,” said Bob Lynch, CEO of Americans for the Arts.

In honor of National Arts in Education week, there are some helpful resources about arts education.

Americans for the Arts has dedicated expertise to arts education advocacy. See the overview of the education ecology in this Arts Education Field Guide. They also are providing tools and training across the country. [We were lucky to have program coordinator Jeff Poulin in Oklahoma last year for the Oklahoma Arts Council’s Conference.]

To build a case for supporting arts education to reach more people, Americans for the Arts produced a series of videos about the positive impacts of arts education. Lively and fact-filled, the videos can be shared with principals, school boards and others who influence education and students directly in our state.

Follow Americans for the Arts education resources and research reports for more methods to improve our communities through arts education.
